Candy Coated Popcorn

My sister gave me this idea. It is an easy to make, yummy popcorn that's good for parties, wedding receptions, and holiday gifts.

How To:
12 Cups popped popcorn (1/2 cup un-popped)
  3 Cups chocolate or Apeals
(I use Wilton Candy Melts. One 14 oz. bag is just right).

  1. Pop popcorn (I transfer popcorn from one bowl to another with my hands to leave behind all un-popped kernels, we don't want any broken teeth).
  2. Melt chocolate in microwave, stirring every 30 seconds.
  3. Pour chocolate over popcorn and stir until all popcorn is covered.
  4. Spread popcorn out on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. Allow to cool.
  5. Break apart and enjoy.
Double the recipe:
24 cups popped popcorn
6 cups chocolate or Apeals
  1. Place a 2 gallon ziplock bag in a large pan and pour popcorn into it.
  2. Pour melted chocolate onto popcorn in bag. Close bag, but do not squeeze out air. Mix chocolate around until all popcorn is covered.
  3. Pour out on wax paper covered cookie sheet until cool.
  4. Break apart and enjoy.
All colors of Wilton Candy Melts are vanilla flavored. You can use Wilton Oil Based Candy Flavorings (or probably any other oil based flavorings) to add different flavors. Do not use water based flavorings as they will not mix in well and will make your candy lumpy.
