National Chocolate Mint Day

The National Confectioners Association has declared February 19th as National Chocolate Mint Day.

Chocolate Mint is simply chocolate (milk, dark, or white) with mint flavoring added (peppermint, spearmint, or creme de menthe).

Now, you can call them chocolate mints or you can call them mint chocolates ~ I like to call them yummy! I am a huge fan of anything of the chocolate mint variety. I like York Peppermint Patties, Junior Mints, Chocolate Starlight MintsChocolate Mint NougatsAndes Mints, and I love these little Chocolate Dutch Mints!

You've heard of a mint plant, but did you know that there is also a chocolate mint plant? It is a hybrid plant that actually smells like chocolate and mint. I'd love to have that growing in my yard!

Here are some mouth watering recipes from around the web for chocolate mint creations. I hope you'll give one of them a try.

  1. Chocolate Mint Ice Cream Pie
  2. Chocolate Mint Krinkles w/Mint Truffle Kisses
  3. Mint Oreo Brownies

  5. Chocolate Mint Icebox Dessert
  6. Chocolate Mint Divinity
  7. Chocolate Mint Layer Bars
