Leap Year Day ~ Feb. 29th

We all know that there are 365 days in a year, but, in actuality, it takes the earth approximately 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 46 seconds to make one trip around the sun. So, to keep our calendar system on track with nature we must add an extra day every four years to the calendar. We call that a Leap Year.

Leap years occur every 4 years. Well, almost. It's a little confusing, but if you go to timeanddate.com, they'll tell you all about that.

Here's a fun explanation about why we need a Leap Year from The Veggie Tales.
